MCA confirmed on 14 May 2020 that SAN75 has been rescinded and that vessels that wish to conduct fuel transfer operations must be certified against either MGN280 or the Workboat Code (Edition 2).
Vessels which are currently certificated against the original Workboat Code (the “Brown Code”) must stop fuel transfer operations with immediate effect and must re-certify against MGN280 or, ideally, upgrade to Workboat Code (Edition 2) before re-commencing this activity.
Affected vessels should contact their Certifying Authority for further advice.
